Obituary of Robert Hawks

Life Legacy Robert Charles Hawks, 84, passed away on July 30, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. Known by many as Bob, Bobby and Smokey, he was born on September 2nd, 1932 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Harold Hawks and Pheliena Purdy Hawks. Bob, the youngest of four, grew up in Ypsilanti and graduated from Ypsilanti High in 1952. After high school he volunteered for the army to fight in the Korean War as did his two older brothers. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold Hawks, Kenneth Hawks and his sister Joyce Spencer Swanson. He was also preceded on death by his beloved wife, Helen Hawks. Bob Hawks enjoyed a long career as an airline mechanic working for several major airlines, retiring from American Airlines. While working for American Airlines he served as a Union Steward. Bob is survived by his children Barbara Jean McGuigan and her husband Michael McGuigan and Beverly Ann Ryan and her husband Leo Ryan. He was fortunate to also be survived by his grandchildren Bryan, Brandi, Kimberly, Theresa and Steven as well as five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held this Thursday, August 3rd at Angel Valley Funeral Home located at 2545 North Tucson Blvd, Tucson, Arizona at 11A.M.
