Obituary of Edward Persellin

Edward M. Persellin, August 8, 1927 - August 2, 2010, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle. Passed away among his children at Lake Melissa, Minnesota. Born in Fargo, North Dakota, graduate of Fargo Central High School, where he was editor of the school newspaper. Married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Heller, on February 25, 1950. Assumed family business, Persellin Distributing, in 1954 upon the death of his father. Moved his family to Tucson in 1969. Owned and operated the Dr. Jekyll’s and Mr. Hyde’s nightclub and the Backside Saloon, and later became a successful realtor. Preceded in death by wife Patricia, mother Bessie, and father James. Survived by brothers Robert and Donald, sister Brenna Davidson, children Michael (Eleanor Kragseth), Scott (Kristi), Steven (Lynne), James (Patricia), Cindy Brown (Marshall), Mark (Julie), Tod (Michelle Estrada), and Nicholas (Chelsi), and twenty-five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and loving companion Suzie Hawkins. A lifetime full of vitality, humor, and love. He provided, supported, taught, and showed us how to live a life. We shall not see his like again. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Temple Emanu-el section of All Faith’s Cemetery, 2151 South Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson. A reception will follow immediately thereafter at 7622 East Calle Agerrida. Special thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, North Dakota to whom donation may be made.
