Obituary of Teresa Lucas

Teresa left us after a courageous battle with cancer and kidney disease at St Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in New Castle, Pa to Rose and Cecil (Cesto) DeCaprio. both deceased. She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Joseph, Clinton and Cecil (Toots) DeCaprio. Her husband Andrew Lucas also preceded her in death on July 14th 1987. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann (John) Evanoski of Tucson AZ and Patty Jenkins (Dave) of New Castle PA. Teresa made her home in Tucson since 1992 to be with her only grandchild Ethan Andrew Evanoski. Fondly known to all as Nanny she was a constant supporter of Ethan’s soccer, Karate and his football games at Catalina Foothills High School. Teresa worked at Shenago Pottery in New Castle Pa and in later years worked for Columbus Services. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, current events and being with Ethan. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held Saturday August 21st 2010 at St Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:00am with a reception immediately following at the Evanoski residence. Special thanks to the following who helped Teresa enjoy her grandson Dr Morris Fine, Dr Jonathan Schwartz, Dr Paul Walshaw, the nurses and staff at Desert Dialysis and the nurses and staff at St Joseph’s Hospital.
