Obituary of Spyridon Steve Vlastaris

Spyridon “Steve” Vlastaris, born October 16, 1958 in Montreal, Canada, slipped peacefully from the arms of his loving family May 23, 2011 after a brief but fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve loved his family, his friends, racing cars, flying kites, Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, and a winning poker hand. He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Debra. Daughters Amber Rusk Casali (Mike), Eleni, and Dia Grace; sister Helen Lialios (Paul); nephews; Alex and Michael Lialios, Jed Lockhart and niece Heidi Harris and families. In-laws; Bob and Carole and numerous aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents Constantinos and Panangiota Vlastaris and far too many dear friends. Special thanks to Dr. Ahmad and staff at AZ Oncology, staff on the 30 med/onc wing at Northwest Hospital, “the food angels”, and to Pat Neal for his love and support.
