Obituary of Ruben Layne Ruiz

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruben Layne Ruiz announces his passing on May 29, 2019 at the age of 64.

Ruben was a kind, gentle and generous soul. He was an extraordinary musician and a talented videographer. A perfect afternoon for him was hanging out with his musician friends and creating music. He also loved the outdoors and escaping to his ranches in Mexico. One of his greatest joys in his earlier years was spending time with his family down at the ranch. He will be sorely missed by all.

He is survived by his ex-wife Ann Ruiz-Swain, his daughter Cameron Ruiz-Lewis (Tarell Lewis) and Nadine Ruiz-Carlson, granddaughters, Dione and Devyn Lewis. Brother Alfonso Ruiz.

A memorial in Ruben’s memory will be held at Calvary Chapel of Tucson (5170 S. Julian Dr., Tucson 85706) on June 15, 2019 from 10am - 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Ruben to Calvary Chapel (calvarychapel.com).
