Obituary of James Douglas Overcast

On Sunday, June 9, 2019, James Douglas Overcast, passed away from ALS at the age of 73 years. He leaves behind his wife of 18 ½ years, Clorien V. Overcast  He also leaves behind his children, Susan Showers, Marianne Shepherd, Tammy Overcast, Grady Overcast,  Billy Coover, his step-daughter, Jessica Mora Cruz, step- son, Juarez Morgan and many grandchildren.

Jim was best known for his handyman skills. Though he held a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he would rather build something than sit behind a desk. He was EPA certified and a great electrician. He worked as a police officer for many years in Phoenix and proudly served our country in the U.S. Armed Services. He was a gentle, caring, and loving soul. He loved to watch TV, travel, dine out, and go to the casinos.

He endured this horrible illness with great courage and perseverance. He never complained and maintained his independence to the very end in a way never seen before.

Jim will be sorely missed.

A Memorial will be held on Thursday, June 20^th, at 11:30 am at Angel Valley Funeral Home 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85716 with interment at the Marana  Veterans Cemetry at 10:00 am with a military tribute
