Maria Teresa Avila Maldonado

October 17, 1923 – June 6, 2019

Mary passed away on June 6 in Tucson, AZ, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Tucson to Ana and Enrique Avila and was a lifelong resident. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Manuel R. Maldonado.

Mary loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends; it was her passion. Anyone who visited her home never left hungry. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always telling them how much she loved them.

She is survived by her sister Adelina Huerta, her five children: Terri and (Armando) Mungaray, Betty Merrill, Mary Jean and (Rocke) Hudson, Jerry and (Sandy) Maldonado, Daviell Maldonado and (John Neitzel), as well as eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
