Obituary of Kathleen Gilbert

Kathleen Gilbert, 87, a breast cancer survivor, died peacefully in her sleep Jan 21, 2020 in her home in Tucson, Arizona. Kathleen, one of eleven children of "Tommy Mac" and Mary McNamara, was born in Ennistymon, County Clare, Ireland. At age 16, she entered the novitiate and was subsequently professed to the Religious pf the Sacred Heart of Mary where she served for 47 years. Kathleen continued her education throughout her career earning and M.A. in American History from Loyola University and an M.A. in Religious Studies from Seattle University. After receiving s dispensation from her religious vows, she began her second vocation as Loving Wife Nov. 17, 1995.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband Jerry, Sister Chris Mclnerney, brother Francie and his wife Bridget, along with numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland and England.
