Obituary of Sandra Jean Gelt

On Monday, February 24th, 2020, Sandra Jean Gelt, loving wife and mother, passed away at age 63. 

Sandra was born on May 2nd, 1956 in Sherborn, MA to Robert and Jean Grout. Sandra was raised on a farm where she enjoyed a fun and vibrant upbringing with her sister and three brothers. On July 23rd, 1983 Sandra married her husband James Sebastian Gelt. They spent just 19 months together before they were wed. In their early marriage they enjoyed camping in New Hampshire and biking often. 

They raised two beautiful girls, Cassandra and Katie. She adored her only granddaughter, Penelope. Sandy had an adventurous spirit, as a young wife and mother she picked up and moved across the country to Tucson, AZ. Sandy’s bold character would allow her to start her own business in the cleaning industry, which she enjoyed for years working alongside her husband and would occasionally bring her girls along for weekend cleanings. Sandy was known for her love of animals, her sassy attitude and her kind and generous heart. Sandy was the Soccer Mom and would do anything to please anyone and everyone.  

Sandy was preceded in death by her Father, Bob, her mother, Jean, and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her Husband, James, her Daughters, Katie and Cassandra, granddaughter Penelope, her brothers, Bruce, Brad and Keith. A memorial service will be held on March 7th, 2020 at 6700 E. River rd. Tucson, AZ 85750. In lieu of flowers please donate to National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
