He then returned to Mount Carmel College in Niagara Falls, to complete his studies and went on to attend St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York, earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and then studied theology at Whitefriars Hall in Washington, DC. White at Whitefriars, he professed solemn vows with the Carmelites on September 3, 1955, and was ordained a Carmelite priest on May 26, 1958.
