Obituary of Martha Russell Kershaw

Martha Russell Kershaw, 78 of Tucson, AZ passed away May 10, 2020.  Martha was born February 6, 1942 in Tuscaloosa, AL.  She was the eldest daughter of Clarence Ulysses Sullivan and Ruth Kelley Sullivan.  Martha was an honored graduate of the Univeristy of Alabama, receiving her Master of Arts, May 31, 1970.  She remained a proud Alabama CrimsonTide football fan throughout her life.  She rarely missed a game and was always accompained by her loving husband William Kershaw.  Martha and William married on June 18, 1971.  For nearly 40 years she was a school teacher where she specialized in the education and guidance of children with special needs.  She was an amazing woman with a very special heart.  

Martha was a proud member of the Daughters fo the American Revolution, Daughters of the Nile and Hadassah.  Martha donated her time when and where she could throughout her life.  Martha loved ot continually educate herself as well as educate others.  Her hobbies were learning multiple languages and genealogy.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Kershaw, son Robert Edward Kershaw and daughter Jacqueline Ruth Conner and son in law Tim Conner.  She also leaves behind two beautiful and loving grandchildren Nicholas Benjamin Kershaw and Olivia Charvelle Conner.  In death she precedes her loving sister Elizabeth Westfaul and her brother in law Darrell Westfaul both of Tuscaloosa, AL. 

 

Martha made her family proud and she will be dearly missed.  We will all carrry her spirit and influence in our hearts.
