Obituary of Tom Galloway

William Thomas Galloway May 21, 1944 - January 9, 2021

William “Tom” Galloway passed away on January 9th, 2021 from complications of Hypoxia Acute COPD. He is survived by his beloved Shepherds, Jacob and Jonah, all of his family that loved him dearly and his many friends from his favorite watering hole, Brodies Tavern.

Tom and his endlessly supportive partner in art and life, the late Rick Young, worked together to create Tile Canvases. This is where Tom and Rick collaborated with Steve Farley to invent Tilography. Together they created many murals, gracing the walls throughout the world, including Tucson’s Broadway Underpass murals that were dedicated in 1999.

We know that Tom’s passing will leave a void in many lives, but we also believe that he found peace when he was met by “his Rick” on his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

“As fellow grasshoppers, our fiddles touched the hearts of all that came in contact with us. Cold and long winters, there were none. The hearts we touched kept us warm. Now my fellow grasshopper I can lay my fiddle down. The hearts we touched will await us being reborn.” (Tom Galloway).
