Obituary of Rosanna Florence Doyle

Rosanna Florence (Dunn) Doyle, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the age of 96 surrounded by loved ones. She finally found peace after a long period of physical and mental decline inflicted on her by dementia.

“Rosie” was born on October 9, 1924 in Dickey, ND, to parents Lena and J. Loyd Dunn. She was one of 15 children and graduated high school from St. John’s Academy. Not long after her graduation, the Dunn family sold their North Dakota farm and moved to Mt. Clemens, MI where Rosanna and several of her family members worked for Packard Aircraft. It was at Packard where Rosanna met the love of her life, John “Jack” Doyle. Rosanna and Jack were married in 1944 and they had 13 children. Apart from raising her large family, Rosanna often worked as a cashier at supermarkets. The Doyles eventually made their way to Tucson, AZ and eventually to Las Vegas, NV prior to Jack’s death in 2000.

Rosanna’s family and friends will always remember her as a truly selfless person whose heart and generosity knew no bounds. She was a loving and doting mother and grandmother. She was strong, a wonderful cook, a faithful Catholic, and loved going to the casinos or dog track.

Rosanna is survived by nine of her children, James “Brendan” Doyle, Patricia Gross, Dennis (Jane) Doyle, J. Michael Doyle, Daniel Doyle, Theresa Doyle, Gregory Doyle, Christopher Doyle, and Kathleen (Marlene) Doyle; twenty grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Wilfred (Patricia) Dunn, Clara Yore, and Carol DeLoach; and countless extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Doyle; her children, Sandra Doyle, Margaret “Peggy” Doyle, Richard (Jayleen) Doyle, and William “Billy” Doyle; her son-in-law, Keith Gross; her parents Lena and Loyd Dunn; and siblings, Margaret Schober, Mildred Rupp, Marian Monson, Maureen Dunn, Francis “Bud” Dunn, Veronica Barbret, Monica Thomas, Dorothy Morisette, Winifred Weiss, James Dunn, and Joanne Ashlin.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 14, 2021 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oro Valley.
