Obituary of Therese Celeste Simmons

Therese Celeste “Teri” Simmons went home with Jesus on January 19, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona. She passed away peacefully and comfortably with family at her side. Teri was vibrant lady with a love of life and took great joy in her family. She was a beloved wife, married on October 24, 1958 to Jennings “Buck” Simmons. She was widowed in 2007.

Teri is survived by her son David, who resides in Orange County, California with his wife Fran. Their children Kathryn “Katie” and Daniel “Danny” were the light of Grandma Teri’s life. She looked forward to their calls and visits and talked about them every week.

Teri is also survived by her younger son, John who resides in Tucson, Arizona with his wife, Susan. Their children, Angelica, Johnny, Eric, Stacy and Chris (Rudloff) all visited Grandma Teri regularly as they all live close by in Tucson. Teri was always so happy to see the kids and hear their stories about their lives.

Grandson Donald “Skeet” and his wife Brooke, and great-grandchildren Chantel, Tehya and Jadzia reside in Chandler Arizona, and made many trips to Tucson. The oldest great-grandchild, Devon is an E4 Senior Airman stationed at Minot Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota. Family gatherings were so much fun for Teri when the kids were around. She particularly liked the hand-drawn pictures the girls would make for her.

Teri was predeceased by granddaughter Katie Peters (Simmons).

A Celebration of Life is planned for February 19, 2022. We will share the happiness, love and laughter that Grandma Teri brought to us all while we host a gathering at John and Susan’s in Tucson and sharing our afternoon via Zoom for family and friends.
