Obituary of Doris Daisy Green

DORIS DAISY GREEN, 99, born into this world on 12/22/1922, and left it to run into the arms of her Savior, on 2/1/2022.

Doris is survived by her two sons, John R Green, and Michael K (Lisa) Green, two grandchildren, Robin Green and Jon Forest (Araceli) Green, one great granddaughter, Cheyenne (Mark) Amalong, and four great great grandsons, Spencer, Hunter, Brayden and Izyck Amalong, as well as many amazing other family and friends.

Doris was an avid cook and nearly everything she “experimented” with was a hit with her family and anyone lucky enough to partake in her cooking. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many of her clothes, and she crocheted beautiful pieces and showcased them around her home.

Her biggest accomplishment, as she would call it, was accepting the Lord into her heart at the age of 21. She faithfully served the Lord for 78 years and loved reading His Word, being involved in Bible studies and memorizing bible verses, so she could witness to others with or without her Bible in hand. She loved talking and sharing the Bible with whoever would listen. She devastatingly lost her sight at the age of 96 and was no longer able to read the Bible, but she loved listening to David Jeremiah, Youtube videos.

She was born in Austin, Texas, and never lost her lovely Texas accent in all of her 99 years. Everyone that spoke with her, knew exactly where she was from. She also lived in Kansas, Virginia and settled in Yuma, AZ, for 30 years, where she raised her family.

She moved to Tucson in 1980, and called this her temporary home, till she went to “Glory”, where she resides now. Hallelujah!!

Doris will be missed by all that know her and love her. Isaiah 40:31 sums it up for her:

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

But the end of her story, is just her beginning and it is the best part of all, because she will be able to “see” Jesus face to face! Amen
