Barry Franklin Lane

May 12, 1944 - May 25,2022

 

Barry Franklin Lane, the loving husband of Linda Grant succumbed to cancer on May 25th surrounded by loved ones in Tucson, AZ. He was 78 years old and survived by his wife Linda Grant, brother Clinton (Mary) Lane, sister Doris Giangroso, son and daughter, Barry (Amy) Lane and Bekki (Greg) Noonan; his two stepsons David (Susan) York and Kenneth (Vanessa) Warne, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Barry was born and raised in Trenton, NJ where he attended Ewing High School class of 62. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy to see the world, which he absolutely did! Earning the rare certificate of Emerald Shellback, for crossing the equator 4 times.  Barry also earned the certificate of the Order of the Golden Dragon, for crossing the international date line, and the Order of the Blue Nose, for crossing the artic circle.

After the Navy he was employed by Xerox which brought him to Tucson, Arizona in 1979. He retired from Xerox giving the company 35 years ending as a Senior Service Engineer. Barry was a Mason of Epes Randolph Lodge as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and the Knights of St. Andrew. 

Barry had a big personality, incredible work ethic, infectious laugh, and kind disposition. He loved spending time with friends and family, camping, fishing, telling jokes and listening to music.

Services honoring Barry's life will be held at Angel Valley Funeral Home, 2545 N Tucson Blvd., Tucson, Arizona, 85716 on Sunday June 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm.

There will be a gathering following the services at his and Linda’s home for family and close friends.
