Obituary of Nicholas Makris

Nicholas Makris (Niko), age 85 of Tucson, Arizona and former resident of Chicago, Illinois. Passed away at his home on October 8, 2022. 

 

Niko was born on October 5, 1938. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 yrs., Despina (Desi) and brother-in-laws Harry Siaggas, Geno Scaramella & Richard Conrad and sister-in-law Joanie Siaggas. Nick leaves behind his sister Stacy and brother in law Michael Varon, his sister Liberty Scaramella, his brother Chris Makris, brother-in-law Spiro Siaggas and his very dear companion Judy Daggert. Three nieces, five nephews along with their children, one beloved great grand niece, Ella Faith, dear neighbors John & Sonia and many close friends and family.

Niko was a proud Army Veteran. Prior to retirement, he worked for many years at US Gibson and for the city of Tucson. His passions were traveling to new places on his Harley, sharing laughs with his volleyball friends and spending time with the men in his breakfast club. Niko was a wonderful brother, husband, uncle and friend who was loved greatly and will be missed by all who knew him.

We will celebrate & honor his life with a Celebration of Life luncheon to be held on 10/16/22 at the 49ers restaurant the" Rincon Grill" at 11:30 a.m.

A funeral service & burial will be in Milwaukee, WI. on 10/21/22. Visitation at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 9:00 am followed by service at 10:00. Internment will follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
