Obituary of Audrey Ross

Trans activist, antique collector, prolific poet, writer and musician, Audrey Ross died at the age of 70 in Tucson, Arizona on Monday, December 5, 2022. Audrey was an open-hearted person who touched many lives. She leaves behind her beloved chosen family, Keith, Darcy, and Amanda. Born at Edwards AFB in California on Sept 12, 1952, she lived through and participated in activism in many historic events of the late 60’s and early 70’s, opposing the Vietnam war, standing up for women’s rights, the rights of racial minorities, LGBTQ, and marginalized people. She made her living for over 40 years collecting and selling antiques in Tucson, had an encyclopedic knowledge of styles and periods, and a knack for finding treasures that brought joy to many people. She shared her powerful, emotional poetry and prose, which reflected a rich life of experience and challenges, in online poetry blogs where she cultivated friendships and poetry slams in Tucson. Her collected writings are being published online at her website, Lilith's Ghost. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Audrey Ross can be made to Southern Arizona Gender Alliance online or mail to: SAGA, PO Box 41863 Tucson, AZ 85717
