Obituary of Cheryl Lynn Garrett

Cheryl (Cheri) was born to Larry and Debbie Schaff in Tucson, AZ on January 22, 1977 as a preemie weighing a mere 2-pounds 7-ounces. She overcame many struggles for the first 63 days of her life but she was determined to show everyone just how much strength she had until she was called to paradise on December 29, 2022.

Cheryl Lynn Garrett leaves behind her husband Glenn of over 21 years and her son John, parents Larry & Debbie Schaff, brother Jason Schaff, mother-in-law Karen Garrett, sisters-in-law DeAnna Garrett and Rayann Jones as well as many extended family members and friends who loved her.

In Cheryl’s (Cheri’s) early years she loved being a part of Girl Scouts and 4-H (showing rabbits, arts and crafts, sewing and needle arts) and was an excellent trap shooter. While attending Cholla High School she had a passion for racing cars at Tucson Raceway Park in the 90’s. She also loved traveling to California for the white sand beaches and the White Mountains for the forest and cabins with her family. She always loved all her fur babies (a lot of pets), enjoyed cooking and watching the Food Network channel, making crafts and her many flowers she loved to plant but not always with a green thumb. Last but certainly not least, she was a die-hard passionate fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Wherever she went she impacted everyone with her generous ways and beautiful smile.

Cheryl will be forever missed, remembered, and loved by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers please contribute in her memory to Tucson Medical Center for Kids as she spent her first 63 days in their care, or your favorite children’s hospital or animal shelter as she loved animals with a passion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on:

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the way.

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun.

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
