Obituary of Octavio Lizarraga Estrada

Octavio Lizarraga Estrada Sr.

February 4, 1933 - January 20, 2023

Octavio Estrada was born in Nogales Sonora, Mexico on February 4, 1933 to Guadalupe and Jesus Estrada. He lived a very full life until he passed peacefully in hospice care, surrounded by family on January 20, 2023. During his almost 90 years, he worked as a banker and for many years in the produce import business in Nogales. He was also a real estate agent and accountant in Tucson. He also served in the Korean War and was a proud veteran who enjoyed his opportunity to travel overseas. He also liked traveling closer to home including many trips to the beaches of Rocky Point over the years. He spent his free time golfing, dancing, roller skating, playing pool, reading and spending time with friends. His children and grandchildren were blessed with the opportunity to learn from him about home maintenance, car maintenance and being independent.

Octavio is survived by his wife Martha Estrada and his daughters Joanne Estrada and Irene Estrada (Michelle). Preceded in death by his son Octavio Estrada Jr (Debbie), his brothers Hector Estrada and Ricardo Estrada. He is also survived by his two brothers Tony Estrada (Blanca) and Jesus Estrada. He has 5 grandchildren: John Kissinger (Melissa), Shawn Kissinger (Janie), Octavio Estrada III (Adina), McKenzie McLoughlin (Conner) and Logan McLoughlin. He also has 7 great grandchildren: Alexis Kissinger, Adrian Gonzales, Kristine Moreno (Emmanuel), Andrea Mercado, JJ Kissinger, Julissa Estrada and Mikayla Kissinger. He was also blessed with having many nieces and nephews.

We will dearly miss the patriarch of our family…Salud!

Rosary and mass to follow at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 11:30am. Internment of ashes at Nogales City Cemetery following mass.
