Obituary of Peter Jon Marshala

Peter Jon Marshala, 68, passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2023, in Tuscon, AZ, with loved ones by his side.

Born in Keene, NH on March 3rd, 1955, to Phyllis Kelly and Augustine Marshala, Peter graduated from Monadnock Regional High School in 1973. As a young adult he spent much of his time hiking, camping and skiing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

A true renaissance man, Peter mastered several professions—he was a carpenter, chef, restaurant manager, bridge inspector, registered land surveyor and owner of P&B Surveying in Mount Pleasant, PA, where he was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Pius.

Peter was known for his sharp, witty humor, and his ability to fix just about anything. His later years were marked by resilience and determination after surviving a traumatic brain injury in 2015. He spent his retirement in the Arizona sun with his beloved wife of 43 years, where he enjoyed a ‘No Hurries, No Worries’ mantra, spending his days making friends and talking politics at leisure.

Peter is survived by his wife Rebecca, his daughter Brigette Marshala Davitt and her husband JP, his son Patrick Marshala and his wife Emmeline, his siblings Kathryn Belaire and her husband Joel, Philip Marshala and his wife Cathy, and Bruce Marshala and his wife Sherry. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jack Davitt, Adeline Davitt, Van Marshala, and Amelia Marshala.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis Kelly and Augustine Marshala, his brother Dennis Marshala, and his sister-in-law Mary Marshala.

A celebration of life is planned for Summer 2023 at Transfiguration Polish Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, PA. Peter will live on in the arms of Jesus, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Knights of Columbus.
