Obituary of J. Anne Cocchi

J. Anne Cocchi, age 78, passed away on April 02, 2023, at home in Tucson, Arizona with her husband by her side. Anne was born in West Frankfort, Illinois to Milford and Esther Crowder on January 03, 1945. She was raised in Marisa, Illinois where, as the daughter of a music teacher, she developed a lifelong love of music. After graduating from high school, she studied music education at the St. Louis Institute of Music for two years before relocating to Roswell, New Mexico. After leaving Roswell, she lived in Marquette, Michigan; Guam; Cary, North Carolina; and Tucson, Arizona, where in each location she sang in church choirs. Anne was known for her love of animals, especially her dog and cat who were also by her side at her passing. She was a loving and devoted mother of two sons and a daughter who combined have given her 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Anne enjoyed reading historical biographies, jigsaw puzzles, singing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During Christmas, she could be found baking dozens and dozens of cookies to give away as highly coveted gifts among family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Kim; two sons, Scott and Michael; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Milford and Esther and her brother George. Anne will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of life will be held in Tucson, Arizona on a date to be determined.
