Obituary of Joanne Mary Wiechers

Joanne Mary Wiechers (Nee, Neuburg), age 79, was born in Hartford, WI on April 20, 1941 to Clemens and Anna (Wiedmeyer) Neuburg.  She passed away in Green Valley, AZ on June 2, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.  She graduated from Alverno College in 1969 then obtained a Master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University in 1980.  She married John Wiechers (deceased) in 1981 and gained Laura and Sherry as stepchildren.  They lived in Wisconsin until 2016 when Joanne moved to Oregon.  After some years spent living on the Oregon coast, she moved to Arizona in 2020.  She spent her career as a reading specialist and teacher.  In her free time she enjoyed sewing, shopping, and traveling.  She had 3 brothers: Daniel (Margie) Neuburg of Hartford, WI, Michael (Jean) Neuburg of Hartford, WI, and Eugene (Carol) Neuburg of West Bend, WI.  She also had 4 sisters Mary (Dan) Scharf of Alamogordo, NM, Linda (Bob) Brozynski of Slinger, WI, Laura (Hank) Netzinger of Prairie Du Sac, WI, and Beverly (Dave) Fenske of Green Valley, AZ.  She is survived by 7 step grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, 3 godchildren, and lots of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her spouse John, her parents Clemens & Anna, and her brother Brian Neuburg.
