Obituary of Robert Sullivan Gaines

Robert Sullivan Gaines, known to his loved ones as Bob, passed away on April 23, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 62. Bob was born on October 19, 1960, in Tucson, Arizona, to Murrel and Anna Gaines. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Steven and Alvin Gaines.

Bob was a very kind, loving, and caring father and grandfather, known affectionately as Papa. He loved his family with his whole heart and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren - Hazel, Trenton, and Aspen. Bob was an adventurous man who had a great love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, flying kites and camping. He also had a passion for butterflies, photography, listening to oldies music, and going bowling. Bob loved ice cream, the 4th of July for the fireworks and he always enjoyed going to parks with his family.

Bob attended Catalina High School and went on to co-own Murrel's Roofing Inc from 1981 to 1994. He later worked as the yard manager for Parsons Steel Builders from 2007 to 2021.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Taylor Stretton, her husband, Anthony, and his grandchildren, Hazel, Trenton, and Aspen. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
