Obituary of Rick Richard Perez

Michael Richard Perez

(January 12, 1963 - March 25, 2024

Michael Richard Perez, lovingly known as Rick or Ricky, passed away on March 25, 2024 at the age of 61, surrounded by his family, after an unknown battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. Born in Tucson, AZ on January 12, 1963. Rick lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Rick was a talented painting contractor whose work showcased his skill and dedication to his craft. He approached each project with precision and creativity, leaving behind a legacy of beauty that will be admired for generations to come. A man of diverse interests, Rick had a passion for western films, particularly "Tombstone," and found inspiration in the resilience of characters portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in movies like Rambo and Rocky Balboa. He loved many genres of music and took joy in often delighting his loved ones with his Elvis Presley impersonations while singing "Teddy Bear" or "All Shook Up”, with infectious enthusiasm. Rick’s life was filled with simple pleasures, from enjoying a cone with his children at Dairy Queen, to indulging in a "fancy" night out at Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse with his family. He had a deep appreciation for history, especially military history, and would often read books or watch documentaries on the subject. Rick’s love for his family knew no bounds. As a father, he cherished his role as Dad or Pops, finding joy in the moments spent with his children, whom he loved dearly. His famous catchphrase, delivered in a comical Italian accent—"forget about it"—brought laughter and warmth to those around him. Rick faced life with courage and resilience, and found solace in the love and support of his family.

Rick is survived by his mother, Mary Angel Perez, his brothers and sisters, Carmen, Kristine, Mary Ann (Tom) Eddie, Ronnie, Hope, Celine, Sylvia (Carlos), Lorraine (Sargon) Linda (Lupe), Jimmy & Sandra. His children: Michael, Rocque, Ria (Michael), Levi (Mila), Paul (Brittany), his grandchildren: Rocque II, David, Nola, Leyla, Ian, Aria, Alexis, Amelia, and Penelope. He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel G. Perez, his grandmother, Mama Cuca (Maria del Refugio Enriquez Angel), his brother, Charley Perez, his sons Adam Perez, Alex Perez, and his grandson, Carlos Santino Perez.

Rest in peace, dear dad. We take comfort in knowing that you are now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Your spirit, smile and laugh will live on in our hearts forever.
