Obituary of Montague Davis

Montague "Monty" Earl Davis, Jr. 71, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on December 27, 2013. He was born on October 30, 1942 to Montague and LuEllen Davis in Honolulu, Hawaii. Some of his grade school years were spent in Hawaii, where he remembered going to school barefoot. The remainder of grade school was in Grapeland, Texas, St. Louis, MO and Tokyo, Japan. He attended high school in New York City and Peekskill Military Academy. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Juris Doctorate degree and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. While at KU, he met the love of his life, Diane, whom he was married for 48 years. He practiced law in Tucson from 1973 to 2012. He was a member of the Casas Adobes Rotary Club in Tucson, liked to fly radio control airplanes and ride his Harley motorcycle. He enjoyed fun times as the cabin in the White Mountains with the family and going on hunting and fishing trips with his sons-in-law and friends. He had a special bond with his five grandchildren where each had their own special hand shake with PaPa. Those who loved him will miss him smile, stubbornness and generosity. He is survived by his wife Diane; his two daughter, Amy McDaniel and her husband, Bruce of Tucson and Carrie Bernal and her husband, Nate of Tucson; five grandchildren, Ryan McDaniel, Megan McDaniel, Mackenzie Bernal, Bodhi Bernal and Addison Bernal. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Real Life Christian Fellowship Church, 3353 N. Houghton Road, Tucson, AZ at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow where friends can visit with the family.
