Obituary of Betty Draper

Betty Maxine (Granillo) Draper, 79, of Tucson formerly of Florence, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Feb. 21, 2014, in Tucson. She was born to the late Edward Monore Faris and Ethel Puckett on May 25, 1934, in Braggadochia, MO. Betty worked as a caregiver for many years. In 1981 she married Donald Draper and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she went into property management until she retired. Betty and Donald were married 32 years. Betty was passionate about dart playing, competing in many tournaments and won many awards. She was a caring, witty, and sassy but above all she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed. Survivors include her husband Donald Draper, two daughters, Mary Jean “Gina” (Johnny) Ramirez, and Linda (Amado) Martinez, and two sons: Fernando Granillo II and David “Bonga” (Tammy) Granillo, all of Florence, a sister, Joy Brake of California and a brother, C.Eugene Faris of Arkansas, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers; Walter and Willie Faris, and a son, Patrick Michael Granillo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church officiating Father Jose Maria Corvera. Interment to follow at Florence Cemetery.
