Obituary of Margaret Brady

Margaret "Peggy" Brady passed into the loving arms of Christ on June 15, 2014. Born to Veronica and Ralph Sherman in Denver, Colorado February 24,1924, she subsequently lived in Long Beach, California and Safford, Arizona where she graduated as high school Valedictorian. She attended the University of Arizona studying business and graduating magna cum laude in 1946. She was employed as the executive secretary to the General Manager of Phelps Dodge Corporation in Douglas, Arizona. There she met and married her beloved husband of 63 years, Peter "George" Brady (dec). Together they raised five children and helped raise her three youngest siblings. Her brother and sisters Jim (Lu), Barbara (Don), and Kathleen (Don) remember how she welcomed them into her home when their mother died at too young an age. She was a deeply devout Catholic, a kind, hard-working and remarkable mother whose generosity, insight, and good humor became a source of strength for all who knew her well. Her children, Margaret (Mark, dec), Peter Michael (Ann), John (Karen), Steven (Linda), and Mary Pat (Kate) will miss her deeply but are very grateful that she is now with her cherished soul mate, George. She was a very proud grandmother to Aimee, Dan, Jeff, Jacob, Kevin, Pete, Caitlin, Brendan, Henry, Carmen, Lee, James, Ana Luisa, Rosa, and Rafael and a delighted great-grandmother to Gavin, Hudson, Zophia, Michael, and Brady. She will be missed by all and we will treasure our memories of her compassion, analytical acumen, and good will.
