Obituary of Sandra McBride

Sandra Joyce McBride was born October 13, 1940 in Niles, OH. Her parents Albert Russell and Virginia Robinson also had a son named James, who was her younger brother. After finishing high school, Sandra got a job at McKelvey's, a department store in Youngstown, OH where she met Kenneth who was serving in the US Air Force. March 31, 1962, after a year's courtship, the two committed their lives together before God in marriage at Niles Methodist Church. Like all couples truly in love, Sandy and Ken began a family with their first son Mark, then came Todd and Jeffrey. Four years later came Kenneth McBride the 2nd. Maintaining a household of 4 boys and a husband and a slew of pets from dogs, cats, birds, fish, and turtles, Sandy found time to serve others at the local East Side Civics, where her friendships blossomed. Sandy loved to bowl and belonged to many bowling leagues. She and Kenny hosted card game night with their neighborhood friends. Sandy loved to dance the two-step, the Waltz and the Polka; but her favorite time spent was dancing with Kenny to country tunes. As the years progressed, the boys grew up. During that time, Sandy found herself working a clerks job while taking care of her wonderful grandchildren: Todd Jr, Matthew, BJ, Cory, Zachary, Josh, and finally a girl named Mackenzie. Missing her husband who relocated to Arizona for work, Sandy eventually rejoined Kenneth,10 years later in Tucson. Sandy instantly fell in love with the Southwest. This love grew deeper spending time with Ken on long road trips admiring the desert scenery. Even with her limited mobility, Sandy's last few years still consisted of family gatherings, road trips, and keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook. Sandy's deep dedication to God was celebrated with her four-day Via de Cristo weekend retreat. It is here where Sandy found peace and solace with her life and beliefs. On Wednesday, November 19th, Sandy passed away dancing through the gates of heaven. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends near and far.
