Obituary of Sandra McLaughlin

Life Legacy Sandra (Sandy) C. McLaughlin, 73, passed away January 22, 2015, in Tucson, Arizona. Sandy was born February 11, 1941, in Champaign, Illinois, the oldest child of George and Winifred Padgett. Sandy grew up in Tucson, graduating from Tucson High School. She attended the University of Illinois. Her working years were spent at the Tucson Police Department, North American Rockwell, Coastline Community College and the US Postal Service. Sandy loved crafts projects and was extremely skilled in crocheting and embroidery. She was happy being a volunteer making blankets for Project Linus to be donated to children who were seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of new handmade blankets and afghans lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Sandy is survived by her son, Craig S. McLaughlin and his wife, Michelle of Oregon, her sisters, Sharon Buckman and her husband, Robert (Bob), and Karen Vaughan all of California, Connie Akins and her husband, Bill of Arkansas. She is also survived by nieces, Roberta (Robbie) Pabst of Tucson, Lisa Sandelovic of Texas, and several great nieces and nephews, and a very special “second son” Ed Pace of Florida. Heartfelt thanks to Cindy May for her loving care during Sandy's last six months and especially her final days
