Obituary of Harvey Gillespie

Harvey Gillespie Harvey was born on February 19, 1928, and passed in perfect grace on February 11, 2015. His wife Liesel passed away just six weeks before him, and he told his family before he departed that he looked forward to joining her and their son Billy who died in a traffic accident more than forty years ago. That left the two of them free to fully devote themselves to their pets - their loves. And so, we ask that you please donate to the ASPCA in lieu of sending flowers. Harvey leaves a precious and sacred legacy - a consciousness and concern for “we” rather than “me.” Even when his lung condition left him almost without breath, he wondered and asked only about the welfare of others - calling to enquire about their wellbeing while gasping for air. His religion - like His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s - was kindness, and he is a great inspiration to those of us he has left behind.
