Obituary of Shirley Miner

Miner, Shirley (Bamford) Shirley Ann (Bamford) Miner passed away on May 13, 2015. Shirley was born on June 2, 1935 in San Diego, California. She was the Daughter of William Neil Bamford and Lillian Louise Castle Bamford. She was the Granddaughter of famous British Columbia, Canada artist Thomas Bamford (1861-1941). Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 years Robert Miner, Sons Paul (Kathie) and Thomas, Granddaughter Megan Larsen (Christian), Grandson Tanner Miner, and Great Grandchildren Ryleigh, Arick, Brighten and Cadence Larsen, Niece Teresa Southwell and Nephew Michael Southwell. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Lillian Bamford and her sister, Mary Bamford Southwell. Miner’s Auto Supply was a Tucson fixture and Shirley could always be found working the cash register and helping customers. When the boys were young she was very active in 4H. She was involved with Meals on Wheels for 10 years, the Assistance League and her church. She was a creative crocheter and avid reader. Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Point Loma High School in San Diego, attended San Diego State College (’54) and was an alumni of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority in Tucson. Private services have been held.
