Ricky worked for Asarco mining, driving the second largest mining truck in the world, his dream job since he was young, driving the "big tonka trucks" as he would call them. He also had a huge passion for gardening and his 14 dogs. He was also the family cook at cookouts, always had a special ingredient for that one dish. Ricky loved to go fishing and taking his nephews and nieces along with him to see if they could catch the "big one". He was a Pittsburg Steelers fan, always rooting in front of the TV yelling, "Go, Go!". One of his other hobbies that he loved was NASCAR racing, and you would find him, along with his good friend Rene at times at the Phoenix race way, cheering on their best driver. He also had a hobby for homemade candles, always trying different things to make them smell even better than the last. Ricky was known for telling jokes or entertaining you with a great story. He loved to talk on the phone to everyone, at times when on the phone with his sisters, they would have to say, "Hold on, let me grab my charger, we've been on the phone for hours!" Ricky loved the band KISS and has a big collection of their memorabilia and when he was young, him and his friends would dress up as the KISS band and put on shows in the garage carport for family and neighbors to sit and watch. Ricky was always available for someone in need, and known as the "neighborhood watch". He always checked in with his mom and sisters making sure they were well. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many close friends that he had. The family would like to send out their warmest thanks to his neighbors and friends who have lovingly helped him this past year.
