Obituary of Donald Hiland

Donald 0. Hiland, age 84, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on January 22, 2016. He was born in Meadville, PA, the first of nine children to John Henry and Aretha Rosetta Vinson Hiland on March 3,1931. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorene Hiland of Tucson, AZ, daughter Donna M. Hiland of Tucson, AZ, son Dwight 0. Hiland of Maricopa, AZ, granddaughter Alicia D. Hiland United States Navy stationed in Washington, DC and adopted niece Rosemary Banks of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by brother Merle Hiland of Saegertown, PA, sisters Mildred Hunter of Silver Springs, MD, Janet Hiland and Thelma Hiland of Meadville, PA. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives. Mr. Hiland was a twenty year Air Force veteran serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After serving his country, he worked for State of Arizona Department of Health Services, for many years, as a Registered Sanitarian. Mr. Hiland left the Tucson area in 1992 and returned to the town of his birthplace of Meadville PA. He later returned to Tucson in 2009 where he resided with his wife Lorene until his death. He loved the outdoors traveling in his motorhome. He will be missed by all of us.
