Obituary of Marla Henderson

Marla Kim Henderson, age 58, died in her home after a long battle with cancer on January 23, 2016, in Tucson, Arizona. She is survived by her children, Amber L. Hodges, Hannah E Hirschl and Adam N Hirschl, all of Tucson, mother, June Morgan of Merritt Island, Florida, sister, Gayle Mastak of Glendale, Az, granddaughter, Lucy L Hodges, Tucson and long time partner, Michael Woodall of Tucson. She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh H. Henderson, Jr. Ms. Henderson was born on August, 16, 1957 in Rockledge, Florida. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale in 1974. She attended Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida and graduated with an associate’s degree. In 1985 she moved to Tucson and accepted a position at University Medical Center where she worked for many years in several departments including cardio, ob/gyn, anesthesia tech and patient care. Kim was a great family person and a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:30 pm at the Angel Valley Funeral Home at 2545 N Tucson Blvd. Tucson. All are welcome to attend. Ms. Henderson’s celebration of life will be held in the future with the date, place and time to be announced.The family would like to thank Tucson Medical Center Hospice for providing help and services for her comfort. Ms. Henderson was very fond of the Diamond Pediatric Unit at UMC and of Vitamin Angels if you would like to make a donation in her name.
