Obituary of Gerald Johnson

Jerry passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospital, Tucson on Friday, May 13, 2016 with his son and daughter at his side. He was born in Madison, WI on January 17, 1952 the son of Sequel (Duke) and Una (Riddiough) Johnson. After graduating Class of 1970 from LaFollette High School in Madison he enlisted in the US Air Force and served proudly for 21 years. While stationed in England, Jerry met the love of his life, Margaret Tibbetts in Banbury, Oxon, England and they married in 1971. After his military retirement he worked at the Tucson Medical Center in many different departments assisting staff and patients before full retirement two years ago. Jerry was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. Jerry is survived by his children Catherine (Tommy) Hampton, Tucson, AZ and Gary (Becky Witt) Johnson, Michigan. Grandchildren, Ashley and Billy Hampton (both of Tucson), Gage and JaeLyn Witt, and Diesel Johnson (all of Michigan). A sister, Cindy Burdick (of Madison, WI). Jerry was preceded in death by his Beloved Wife of 44 years, Margaret in April of 2015, a deep loss he never fully recovered from. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Terry, and a granddaughter, Alyssa. A private service was held on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
