Obituary of Mario Herrera

Mario Zayas Herrera Mario Zayas Herrera, age 87, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 in hospice at Loving Family Care, following an extended illness. He was married to the late Petra Preciado Herrera in 1949. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Olga Herrera. He leaves his two sons, Wences (and Jennifer) Herrera and Carlos (and Tanya) Herrera; five daughters, Gloria (and Fil) Tellez, Ofelia (and Rogelio) Pier, Norma (and Jorge) Martinez, Maria (and Patrick) Garrett, and Lorenia (and Jose Luis) Tamayo; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Mario spent time living in Mexico and the US. He began working at a very young age in life, working for the city of Nogales and in various mines. Mario was a member of Mosaic Community Church for 4 years. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Mosaic Community Church at 2700 W Broadway Blvd (85745).
