Obituary of June Kellen

June Fay Kellen died February 19, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born June 4th 1939 in Minnesota to Kenneth & Norma Miller. She married Vincent Kellen on Nov. 12, 1960. Their marriage was blessed with three wonderful sons. June & Vince lived & worked in Minnesota until 1983 when they moved to Tucson for health reasons. June worked outside the home most of their married life. In 1986 she began a career (ministry) working for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson. In 1999 she was appointed the 1st woman Chancellor for the diocese by the late Bishop Manuel D. Moreno, a position she held until her retirement for health reasons on April 30, 2007. June truly enjoyed her many years in service with the diocese. She loved the people she worked with and she enjoyed a special working relationship with the bishops, and the priests of the diocese. She always considered the priests her boys, no matter their age. June is survived by her faithful and loving husband Vincent, Tucson, sons Scott (Kelli) Fredericksburg VA., Joel (Jennifer) Corpus Christie, TX. granddaughter Kelsie & grandson Steffen, Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by her parents, Kenneth & Norma Miller, Tucson, sister Judith (Stanley) Kirlin, Fulda, Mn. and brother Glen (Sally) Miller, Oroville, Ca. and daughter in law Terri Kellen, Cave Creek, AZ. June was preceded in death by son Terry Kellen. There will be a visitation at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 1950 W Irvington Place, Friday evening Feb. 26, 2010 from 5 to 7:30 PM with the Vigil Service at 7:00 PM, a Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, 192 S Stone, Tucson. Following the mass inurnment will he held in Holy Hope Cemetery.In lieu of flowers June requests donations be made to Wheelchair Sports, USA 1436 Jungermann Rd. Suite A St. Peters, MO. 63376.
