Obituary of Louis Bighinatti

Lou died peacefully on April 1, 2011, after a lingering illness. He was born in Miami, FL, on May 18, 1926, to Italian immigrant parents, Benvenuto and Margherita (Veronesi) Bighinatti. He was raised on a small farm in Middletown, CT. After serving in the Army Air Force during WWII, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering at the Univ. of Hartford. He eventually moved to southern California, where he met and married his wife Pat. They had a beautiful daughter, Janelle, who was their pride and joy. The family resided in Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and Seattle. Lou and Pat moved to Tucson in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patsy (Adams), and his 31 year-old daughter Janelle of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his brother Ben of Covina, CA, sister Ellen Murphy of Ormond Beach, FL, a number of nieces and nephews, and first cousins in the U.S., Italy, & South Africa. A funeral mass will be held in the chapel at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd., on Thursday, April 7 at 9:30 am. Interment will be at the Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista.
