Obituary of Carlos Jordan

Carlos Mario Jordan 69, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2011, with his family by his side. He was recently diagnosed with Melanoma last August and remained strong and courageous until Our Lord called him home. Known to most as Mario, he was born in Navojoa, Sonora Mexico on September 13, 1941 to Rafaela and William Jordan who have preceded him in death. Mario is survived by his beloved wife Martha, his daughter Martha, his son Carlos, his daughter Maria (Greg) MacKeigan and his only grandbaby Ana Maria. Mario was raised in Hermosillo Sonora, together with his siblings Reynaldo, Martha, Elva, Jose Luis, Javier and Rafael. He loved music, and at one time was the anchor for the University of Sonora T.V. station. He had his own radio show for many years and served as master of ceremonies for many events at the University and also in many fundraisers in which he participated in Caborca, Sonora. He married Martha in 1973 and moved to Caborca, Sonora where they lived for many years before the family moved to the United States and currently was residing in Tucson, AZ. Mario was a lector for our parish in Caborca and loved serving his Catholic community. He was involved in cursillos and many other church events. He continued his ministry as a lector and usher at St. Cyril parish in Tucson and very much enjoyed serving Our Lord. He worked as an electrician for 45 years and had retired in 2008. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and visiting with friends. Mario was an avid baseball fan for most of his life. What we will miss most about him is his sense of humor, seeing him play and talk with Ana Maria, his enthusiastic ways, and how any remedy for his illnesses was “Alka seltzers”. We will miss him dearly and know that we have another angel watching over us. Contributions in his memory may be made to Arizona Cancer Center-Melanoma Program 3838 N. Campbell Avenue Tucson, AZ 85719 Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, May 27, 2011 in the chapel of Angel Valley Funeral Home 2545 N Tucson Blvd, Tucson. The recitation of the rosary will be said at 7:00 pm. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be said Saturday morning, May 28, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Cyril Catholic Church 4725 E Pima, Tucson
