OMG! I'm beyond shocked, and distressed over finding this. I've been searching for you for years....
My most sincere condolences to all of your family members....this is just awful. I'm so sorry I didn't run you down sooner, I was mis-spelling your last name.
In the way of explanation.....I was a newly divorced single mother, and I needed a job. I went to Coco's at 2990 N. Campbell and filled out an application. Thereafter I went in every day, just to see if there was an opening yet. Craig, bless his heart, finally hired me....probably because I was driving him nuts! He was the best guy on the planet to work for. I loved him, the other wait staff loved him, and the customers loved him.
This has made me so very sad......

I just found out today on the passing of a very good friend, my best friend for my 3 years at Hicksville High School. We were teamates on the school football team and lacrosse team. You could say we were like BROTHERS. Sleeping over my house or his house. The nights at the SweetShop in town or playing a game of pool at the pool hall in town.
WOW!! So many memories.
My condolences to his Family.
REST IN PEACE MY GOOD FRIEND!

This is a huge surpise to me. I worked for Mr. Hasel at Sizzlers from 1987-1989. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I am 41 yrs old and have worked numerous jobs and have had numerous supervisors, but by far, he was the best I ever worked for. Whenever I speak of bosses, HE is the one I speak of the most as far as setting the example. I was just talking about him last weekend.
Quick Stories:
Sizzlers around 1987-88:
I came in before opening time to "prep" our salad bar. I seen Mr. Hasel as usual cooking breakfast for the morning crew. He's whistling away, smiling all over the place. I asked him, "Mr. Hasel, why are you always in a good mood?"
He says to me, "Ernie, I'm manager, it's important that I'm in a good mood because I set the tone here, you notice when the other manager is in a bad mood what that does to everyone."
Mr. Hasel was always mopping our back kitchen area. I approached him one day and said, "Mr. Hasel, you mopping just doesnt look right, youre wearing a shirt and tie, let me mop, just ask me to mop.
He stopped, looked at me and said, "Ernie, a good manager is going to do the job first, if he can do it, before he tells someone else to."
These are just a couple stories that have influenced me. I have never hesitated to share them with people. I only knew him for a couple of years and he was the reason why I stayed at Sizzlers for so long. I will say it again....He was the best BOSS I have ever worked for. And the things he took the time to teach me, I teach to my kids.
Truly one of kind leader.
