Obituary of Moni Smith

Montez “Moni” Inez Smith, 77, of Tucson, Arizona, went to heaven on August 10, 2012. Moni was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 6, 1934. She married the late Floyd B. Smith in 1978, and stayed married until his passing in 2011. She is survived by her son, Stewart Allen Embrey, of Tucson, AZ,; daughter Phyllis Marie Staton of Rancho Cucamonga, CA,; and daughter Teresa Anne Scarpinato, of Stafford, VA. She is also survived by her brother Richard McNally, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Moni Smith was a retired Charge Nurse who had also been a school teacher and a real estate broker. Moni loved the desert southwest and all that it had to offer. She and her late husband took “Sunday” drives through the New Mexico and Arizona deserts and hills. They frequented farmers markets and shops. She was passionate about her family, friends, and animals.
