Obituary of Patricia McWard

Patricia Ann McWard (Pat) 68, of Tucson passed away on March 7, 2013. She was born January 8, 1945 in Douglas, AZ the daughter of Edward and Montine McWenie. She was a native of Arizona, a graduate of Rincon High School and the University of Arizona. She was a PEO member of Chapter J and of the Kappa Gamma Sorority. A big Wildcats fan she enjoyed attending football, basketball and softball games. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Bob McWard, for over 45 years. She partnered with her husband in an Army career that spanned more than 30 years and was a retired teacher from the Vail School District. She and her husband were drawn to the Lord while serving a tour in Athens Greece and served Him together for over 39 years. One of her greatest joys was serving at Catalina Foothills Church especially with the Women in the Church. Pat truly had a servant’s heart, loved and cared for others, was always positive in her outlook and rejoiced in the life that God had given her. She leaves behind her husband, Bob McWard, daughter Nancy Petrie, son-in-law Darren; their children Joshua and Jesse; her son, Bob, daughter-in-law, Suzy; their boys Bobby, Eli and Will. To her five grandsons she was fondly called Mimi and she loved each very dearly. She is survived by two aunts Annie Jo Mathis and Georgie Pate and a cousin Virgina Mathis all of Tucson; sister-in-laws Ellen McWard and Benita McWenie, cousins Susie Ferrin and Liz Martinez; and 4 nephews. A celebration service will be held at Catalina Foothills Church on Tuesday March 19th, 2013 at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Women In The Church (WIC) at Catalina Foothills Church, 2150 E. Orange Grove Rd. Tucson, AZ 85718.
