Obituary of Pamela Cowan

Pamela M. Cowan (McConnell), June 21, 1949 – February 27, 2013. Pam Left gently in her sleep on to her next life adventure. She came to Tucson in 1967 from Dover, Massachusetts to attend the U of A. Upon graduation she began a 30 year career as a teacher at Flowing Wells. She acquired acclaim for her innovative teaching techniques, became head of her department and mentored numerous new teachers. She was respected and loved by her students and peers. Pam was a gifted athlete, a competitive racquetball and volleyball player, well known at the Tucson Athletic Club. She was an avid reader, gardener, jewelry and crafts person. She enjoyed camping, exploring and beach combing in Rocky Point. She rooted heartily for the U of A and Boston Sports teams. Pam was preceded in death by her parents James and Elizabeth Ray Cowan and her brother Geoffrey. She is survived by brother, Lance (Barbara), sister Jennifer Mulherin (Chris), nephew Christianson James Mulherin and niece Jenna Ray Mulherin, husband Frederick McConnell and many friends whom she dearly loved. <
