Obituary of Carl Moser

Carl K. Moser 5/10/1942 – 3/20/13 Passed away with his family by his side after a battle with cancer. He was born in Milton, PA and grew up in Elgin, IL. He met his wife Nancy in 7th grade in 1955 and married in 1965. After graduating Elgin High in 1961, he joined the Navy, including being part of the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. After leaving the Navy he worked at Houghton Mifflin book warehouse in Geneva, IL until he moved to Tucson, AZ in 1973. He worked at HLS Wholesale Auto Parts for 16 years and Van Tran as a driver for 17 years until he retired. He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Tina, and son Todd and his wife Julie. He also leaves five siblings and 3 grandchildren Alyssa, Cameron, Chloe. He was loved by many friends over the years. A memorial service will be held at Angel Valley Funeral Home 2545 N Tucson Blvd on Monday, March 25 at 2:00 pm. Here are the top 20 things to know about Carl Moser -Met his wife Nancy in 7th grade, confirmed in the same class in 8th grade, dated off and on all through high school. Married St Paul’s church where they had been confirmed together. Both children, Tina and Todd, were also baptized in that church. -Would pretend he was sick when he lived at Mooseheart Orphanage because the hospital they took him to would serve him liver sandwiches to his heart’s content. -All he came across were friends. He could have a conversation with ANYONE, sometimes even himself! -Loved being outdoors tending to his roses with ABBA blaring out of the outdoor speakers. -Countless camping trips with family and friends. -Cook outs and swim parties were a regular at the Moser household. -Each week brought a new cooking magazine, either by mail or his choosing at the store. -Never met a recipe he wouldn’t try, Cooking was his second love…. Family was his first. -Do not get between him and the TV when the Wildcats were playing. The neighborhood will dearly miss his “Good One” and “Yahoo” for every Wildcat three point shot. -Spent 4 years in the Navy that took him to Mediterranean, Caribbean , Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominican and Haiti. -Carl has traveled with family and friends to all but seven of the United States -Champagne taste on a beer budget. -Halloween was one day he looked forward to. He loved to dress up and scare all the kids. -He was often found sporting flip flops, a pair of shorts and a tank top -A great sense of humor and he loved to show it on his witty T-Shirts -Being a driver for Van Tran 17 years, he was the man to call for directions if you needed them any place in Tucson. -Rachel Ray’s biggest fan. -Would be one of the first to fight the sizing limits on sodas being sold at the convenience stores as he was known over the years to love the 99 cents any size drinks(64 oz of course) -Saturday morning coffee at the club house was never the same once he started coming. -He would light up the neighborhood….. No, I mean LITERALY light up the neighborhood. He thought there was always room for one more string of lights. -Always saw the latest movies that graced the big screen. Well known at ALL theaters in Tucson. -Spent many Friday nights on the Band Bus chaperoning us to away football games.
