Obituary of Rudy Chavez Hornelaz

On January 2, 2020  Rudy C. Hornelaz Jr. loving husband and father passed away at the age of 62. Rudy was born on May 7th, 1957 in Morenci, AZ to Rudy and Carmen Hornelaz.

Rudy learned to drive semi-trucks at the young age of 19. Rudy was a trucker driver for many years in Morenci, AZ , Safford, AZ and Tucson, AZ.  If you just look around Tucson, he touched it everywhere with those semi’s. He left a beautiful legacy behind.

In 1977 he married his sweetheart Joanne and raised 4 children.

Rudy was a devoted husband and loving father to all 4 of his children and shared in all aspects of their lives.

He loved fishing, camping, NASCAR races, classic westerns and spending time with his family. Every Sunday you were guaranteed to find him watching the Pittsburgh Steelers or NASCAR.

Rudy is survived by his wife of 42 years Joanne, his children Stacy (Tony) Gonzales, Valorie (Daniel) Lopez, Tammy (Anthony) Lopez, and Anthony Hornelaz, Grandchildren, Desiree Gonzales, Vanessa Lopez, Angelique “Kika” Lopez, Tino “Grandson” Gonzales, Jason ”Bubba” Lopez, Joseph Lopez, Dominic Lopez, and Lilly Hornelaz.

Also survived by his mother, Carmen Hornelaz, Sister Debbie (Art) Provencio, Brother’s Gabe (Dawn) Hornelaz, Eric (Carla) Hornelaz, Rick (Yvonne) Hornelaz, and many nieces and nephews.

Rudy is preceded in death by his father Rudy Hornelaz Sr, Brother's  Alex Hornelaz, Frankie Hornelaz, Brother-in-law Harold “Buddy” Potter, and niece Rochelle Hornelaz.
