Obituary of Vivian Riley

Vivian Riley, nee Vita Viverito, was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 10, 1932. She died of heart failure November 26, 2020 in Tucson Arizona.

VIvian grew up on the Near North Side of Chicago called Lincoln Park.
The oldest of four children, she attended St Michael’s School in Old Town (Chicago). Married March 8, 1950 to James P. Riley Sr. Mother of four children Kerry, deceased (Cathy); Kenneth; James Jr. (Ellen); and Cynthia (Gary). Loving grandmother to Kevin (Jennifer) and great grandmother to their children Zachary & Liam; also grandmother to Michael & Megan; Cassandra & Patrick. Vivian loved to cook, enjoyed botanic gardens, many types of music, theater and art. She was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction. She most recently belonged to Shepherd of the Desert Church in Scottsdale. She sang in many church choirs. Her first job was a switchboard operator for Illinois Bell Telephone. She worked many years at Gale St. Inn Chicago and Gale St. Inn Diamond Lake. A dear friend to many, Vivian's warm smile and generosity made her friends that she kept in touch with for decades.
