Obituary of Robert Dale Szente

Robert Dale Szente (1970-2021) Robert Dale Szente of Tucson, Arizona, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on May 25, 2021 at age 50 years. Robert, "Rob," was born in Bellevue, Ohio, on November 21, 1970. He is survived by his adoring wife, Melissa Szente, the love of his life. He is also survived by his parents, John and Susan Szente of Tucson, Arizona; his mother, Deborah Kay Meyer of Bucyrus, Ohio, father Robert Dale McGrady of Clyde, Ohio (Deceased), and mother-in-law Maureen Nichols. Also surviving are Siblings, Lori McGrady of Tucson; Shawn Szente of Perris, California; Jonathan (Liz) Porter of Tucson; Step-children Emily Papenfus of Tucson; Jessica (Jason) Wynn of Tucson; Grandchildren Ethan and Calliope Wynn; Nieces and Nephews Gabriel Scherger, Joshua Scherger, Melissa (Noah)Holbert, Alexia Szente, and Rylee Szente. Rob graduated from LaHabra (California) High School and served in the military, U.S. Army, from 1989-1993. During his service time he received the honors of Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Overseas Medal for service in Desert Storm campaign, Sharp-Shooter Badge, and Army Lapel Badge. After his military service Rob attended vocational school and received his Commercial Driver License and continued his education with specialization in Hazardous Materials transportation as a fuel truck driver with Groendyke in Tucson, Arizona. Rob was all about Family and the importance of getting together at every oppportunity. He was instrumental in encouraging his parents and siblings, Lori and Jonathan, to move to Tucson so he would have family close by. Rob was a sensitive soul, who loved unconditionally under every circumstance. He saw the good in everyone and always looked for the best in them. Everyone who met and got to know him loved him. Rob was a brilliant and gifted man. He was an animal lover who adopted his two Blue Heelers (Sydney and Yogi), expert wood carver, gardener, and cook who loved to grill outside for the family events. He loved to play pool and darts, and was great at both. His family encourages you to leave a remembrance here telling of how he has touched your life through the years. Our prayer: Dear Lord, we are so grateful that you have made us all in Your own image, giving us gifts and talents with which to serve you. Thank you for Rob's life, and all the years we shared with him. We lift him to You today, in honor of the good we saw in him and the love we felt from him. Please give us the strength to leave him in Your loving care, in the knowledge of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.
