Obituary of Betty Gene Coward

Betty Gene Coward, 96, born August 24, 1925 in Warren, Arkansas.  Betty moved to Tucson with her parents, Johnnie and Mary “Missie” Plunk and her brothers Raymond and William Robert “Buddy” in the mid 1930’s.

She graduated from Tucson High School in May 1944.  She married her childhood sweetheart, James Edward Coward, on February 11, 1945, when he was home on leave from the US Army.

She provided a loving home for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed for all her kindness, generosity, and love she shared with everyone who came in contact with her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, in 2005, and is survived by her loving son Robert (Christine) Coward and nieces and nephews.

Betty peacefully passed on January 26, 2022.  Our gratitude to the TMC Hospice staff for their kind professional staff that assisted us.

Graveside services will be held at South Lawn Cemetery at 5401 S. Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706 on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
