Betty Jean Mitchel

Born, Betty J. Stuehm, in Joliet, Illinois. Betty moved to Tucson with her family in 1949. A graduate of Tucson High class of 1953, she went on to become a beautician before settling down to have a family. Betty enjoyed attending lectures at the Tucson Historical Society, felt rich when she won $5 at Keno, and liked to sit back after a hard day’s work to Los Lobos with a Margarita, a smoke, and a few of her homemade tacos (which were the best.) Ask anyone who knew her, and they would say, we were all richer for having known her. Everyone was welcome in her home, and everyone was treated like her own. Please join us in wishing her a fond farewell, as she goes to meet her loved ones who have made the journey before her. For those who cannot make it, feel free to celebrate her life at any time in the future, and know that she would be honored.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
